Mars Hill Wind Farm
in northern Maine
to offer Wind Watts
renewable energy certificates (RECs) available in 1,000 kWh increments.

Wind Watts are created when wind power generated by the
Mars Hill Wind Farm is "unbundled" or substituted for traditional power.
Wind Watts represent the environmental benefits or savings in carbon
dioxide and other pollutants that occur when clean power from wind
replaces burning fossil fuel.

Maine Interfaith Power and Light is a
non-profit, organization that brings Maine
residents and organizations together to buy
clean electricity. As a licensed electricity
retailer, we offer clean power products
which may be purchased as part of one's
electricity bill (Maine Clean Power) or as a
stand alone renewable energy certificate
(Maine Wind Watts). |
